Nothing But The News
The one thing we do at Pitriff that we feel separates us from everyone else is the fact that we try to give you only legitimate heavy metal and hard rock stories, without all the fluff.  Where almost every other site fills up with interviews that say nothing, Pitriff sticks to actual news stories.  Our interview stories are limited, and random footage of performances is eliminated.  You can come here, find out what’s really happening, and get on with your day!  It’s that simple!
Shop In The Pitriff Store
One of the great new features of Pitriff is our brand new Pitriff Store!  Powered by Amazon, we've done away with all the riff raff that normally pollutes online shopping and left only what you want to purchase - hard rock and heavy metal!  In the Pitriff Store, there's nothing but hard rock and heavy metal cds and mp3s; broken down by metal subgenre so you don't have to search to hard to find anything.  Go to the Pitriff Store today and pick up that brand new release while you read about it in the news!
Honest Reviews You Can Believe
Unlike so many other sites out there, Pitriff goes out of our way to write CD reviews that are real.  We do not allow our reviews to be influenced by record companies or by the bands who have submitted their music for review.  Simply put, all we have in the world is our integrity so we aren’t going to sacrifice that.  When you read our reviews, you will always know that the reviewer said what they truly felt, and you can assess for yourself if you want to believe what they are saying.

Son Of Drowning Pool Singer Severely Injured

Ayden Rose, the three-year-old son of DROWNING POOL/ex-SOIL singer Ryan McCombs, was severely injured in a riding lawn mower accident that left severe damage to his right leg. Ayden will need multiple surgeries and has a long road of recovery ahead of him.

McCombs' family and friends are asking those who can to help raise funds for the astronomical medical bills.

To help lighten the financial burden, a benefit show will be held with auction and raffle items that have been donated by friends in the music and sports industry to aid this cause.

Promoters Good To Their Word - Pull Plug On Guns N' Roses Late Set

According to NME.com, GUNS N' ROSES' appearance at the Reading festival earlier tonight (Friday, August 27) was cut short after the organizers pulled the plug on the band's performance due to curfew issues.

GUNS N' ROSES kicked off the show at 10:30 p.m. — over an hour later than scheduled — and managed to play the majority of its set until roughly midnight despite earlier warnings from festival organizer Melvin Benn that he would not tolerate the band playing past 11:30 p.m.

GUNS N' ROSES walked offstage after playing "Nighttrain" and tried to return for an encore, at which point the band's sound was cut. According to NME.com, the group "still tried to launch into 'Paradise City', though only the drums could be heard as all other instruments had been switched off. As the crowd started to sing the track, [singer Axl] Rose tried to greet members of the audience while singing through a megaphone." This went on for roughly five minutes, before the GN'R bandmembers came together on the stage for a final bow and walked off.

"Reaping Death", the new CD single from WATAIN, which was exclusively distributed in Sweden via Sweden Rock Magazine, was certified gold in the band's home country on April 21 by the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry for sales in excess of 10,000 copies. (Note: Each copy of the magazine sold in Sweden counted towards the certification.)

"Reaping Death" comes off WATAIN's fourth album, "Lawless Darkness", which entered the official chart in Sweden at position No. 26 and dropped to No. 37 the following week.

"Lawless Darkness" sold around 1,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release. The CD landed at position No. 42 on the Top New Artist Albums (Heatseekers) chart, which lists the best-selling albums by new and developing artists, defined as those who have never appeared in the Top 100 of The Billboard 200.

"Lawless Darkness" was released in Europe on June 7 in a limited three-panel digipack edition with die-cut and a cover of DEATH SS' "Chains of Death" as a bonus track.

WATAIN will embark on a European headlining tour in the fall. Support on the trek will come from DESTROYER 666.
